NCAA Approves NH Virtual Learning Academy’s High School Courses and Program for NCAA College-Bound Student Athletes
Exeter, N.H. – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) recently certified New Hampshire’s Virtual Learning Academy Charter School (VLACS) as a NCAA-approved secondary school. This announcement comes right after the NCAA adopted revised, stricter standards that virtual high schools must comply with to earn the NCAA’s certification.

NH’s Virtual Learning Academy Charter School Launches Innovative Program that Allows Students to Recover Partial Course Credit
Personalized Pathways Program Provides On-line Coursework or Skilled Experiences for High School Students
Exeter, NH – The Virtual Learning Academy Charter School (VLACS) is pleased to announce its latest online program called Personalized Pathways, or P2. The program’s goal is to offer school districts an alternative educational opportunity for high school students who benefit from learning in non-traditional ways and environments. The program is a collaborative effort between VLACS and local school districts, and allows high school students to finish uncompleted courses through on-line studies or knowledge gained through hands-on experience. Personalized Pathways is approved by and funded through a grant provided by the New Hampshire Department of Education.

NH’s Virtual Learning Academy Charter Sings the Sweet Tune of Success
as Student Enrollments Reach 7,400
Exeter, NH – “S-U-C-C-E-S-S.” Administrators at the Virtual Learning Academy Charter School (VLACS) sing this sweet tune as New Hampshire’s online high school completes it second academic year.
The numbers - especially student enrollments - show the Academy’s success. In January 2007, the Academy had about 700 enrollments. Two years later, they have reached 7,400 student enrollments. This growth also has increased the Academy’s teaching staff from an initial 40 to 150 New Hampshire-certified, highly qualified instructors.

NH’s Virtual High School Makes History with Graduating Class of 2010
Most Graduates Will Attend College in the Fall
Exeter, N.H. – Twelve high school students made history this year when they became the first graduates of New Hampshire’s only online high school – The Virtual Learning Academy Charter School (VLACS). The Academy’s Class of 2010 graduates are: Julianne Chaloux of Dover; Amanda Dargy of Gilford; Kelsey Emry of Hampstead; Lauren Frank of Lancaster; Ashley McDonough of Sanbornville; Sean McKenna of Moultonborough; Chloe McKeon of West Chesterfield; Taylor Murray of Exeter; Amber Parshley of Newmarket; Jonathan Thomas of Northfield; Joshua Tubbs of Sandown; and Taylor Wilmot of Nashua. Ten of the 12 graduates will attend college in the fall.
