Materials Needed:
If you are having difficulty viewing the Chinese characters (they may appear as question marks or empty boxes), please go through the below steps to resolve.
- Update your browser to the latest version. If you are using Internet Explorer, you can download the latest version at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx.
- Update Language Support Options:
- In Windows, click Start menu;
- Go to Control Panel;
- Choose "Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options";
- Choose "Regional and Language options";
- Go to the Languages tab;
In the "supplemental language support", check "install files for East Asian Languages"; (Please note: you may be prompted to insert your Windows Installation CD during this step.)
- In the Advanced tab, scroll down to the bottom of the Code Page conversion table list and ensure that there is a check in the box beside Traditional Chinese;
Click OK
If you cannot find the characters in the Chinese character animations site mentioned in the lessons, follow the rules in the http://www.zhongwen.com/shufa/index.html site to write your characters.
